'Wessex' Glace Corespun Polyester Cotton	Wessex Glace threads are lubricated and polished to give a smooth surface combining the strength of synthetic threads with the virtues of cotton threads. Whilst the cotton sheath protects the core from needle heat, the Polyester core gives good resistance to weak alkalis and degradation by U.V light. SEE COLOUR CARD HERE
'Ultrabond' Bonded Nylon	'Ultrabond' bonded Nylon thread is bonded and lubricated. It is highly resistant to abrasion, mildew, rot, perspiration and sea water and is substantially unaffected by weak alkalis. The bond finish helps overcome the more critical operations such as back tacking, zig-zag stitching, twin needle stitching etc. Recommended for many industrial sewing operations of a more strenuous nature, including footwear, leather goods, plastics, mountaineering equipment, webbings, upholstery and similar end uses where sewing difficulties may be encountered. 'Anefil' Bonded Polyester	'Anefil' Bonded Polyester threads are highly resistant to abrasion, have exceptional tensile strength, good resistance to most mineral acids but will be partially dissolved by strong concentrations of organic acids. It has good resistance to weak alkalis but will disintegrate in strong solutions at boiling point. Recommended for the many sewing operations in sailmaking - and also for filtration bags and lifting slings. It is also very useful for the manufacture of boat covers, tarpaulins and tents where many of the criteria of sailmaking apply.
'Sunstop' Bonded Polyester	This NEW thread is launched as the leading thread for sewing operations in Sailmaking, boat covers, awnings, tarpaulins and tents where continued exposure to natural sunlight is anticipated. Not only does Sunstop prevent colour fade and retain strength after sewing, it also has unique anti-wick properties so often the demand of the manufacturer. SUNSTOP OUTPERFORMS ALL COMPETITORS PRODUCTS!
'Nomex' Flame Retardant.	Begins to char at 370 degrees centigrade. The heat resistant characteristics of this thread allow retention of structure and mechanical properties at temperatures well above those at which common fibres degrade. As protection from flame and heat is a prime requirement in many civil and military occupations. Protective clothing, aircraft, upholstery and material fittings, filtration and similar uses are the main applications.
'Kevlar' High Strength	Excellent strength and heat resistance. Decomposition at 440 degrees centigrade. It does not melt and is substantially unaffected by both acids and alkalis unless in strong concentrations. Common applications include seaming operations on protective clothing used by firefighters, police officers and the armed forces. Other uses include welding gloves, welding curtains, fire blankets and safety clothing.
