Bonded polyester sewing threads are produced from high tenacity continuous filament polyester yarns.
The yarn is twisted and 2 or 3 ends are plied to give the resultant size required.
The thread is then bonded and lubricated to give it protection when sewn through many layers of of potentially harsh fabric.
Bonded thread is highly resistant to abrasion, has exceptional tensile strength, good resistance to most mineral acids but will be partially dissolved by strong concentrations of organic acids.
Recommended uses are sailmaking, boat covers, awnings and tents where its excellent UV characteristics extend life in prolonged sunlight exposure.
